2025 Milestones

Published on

2025 builds on the extraordinary momentum of a banner year for the Newport Polo International Series presented by Turkish Airlines, ushering in a season defined by energy, growth, and unforgettable experiences.

The annual cycle launched at full gallop with the Charity Ball selling out in just minutes upon its December release, setting the tone amid unprecedented preseason excitement and record demand for season passes and Polo Party reservations.

Anticipation surged with the announcement of international teams, highlighted by the historic return of Morocco in a thrilling season opener. An exciting schedule of Meet & Greet events drew hundreds of fans to Newport & Providence rooftops and waterfront destinations, transforming each international match into a full weekend of themed celebration and cultural exchange.

Fueling the future of the sport, the Club’s Coaching League continued to elevate the next generation of polo talent, preparing emerging players for the global stage. From opening festivities to final chukkers, the season reflects high-caliber competition, international camaraderie, and the enduring spirit of polo setting the stage for an epic year ahead.

Below are select milestones achieved as we move confidently into 2026.

2025 Fundraising benchmarks

Newport Polo’s annual charitable fundraising initiatives generated nearly $180,000 in 2025, benefiting 95 nonprofit organizations and bringing the club’s historic total to more than $2.3 million in charitable support since 1992. This wide-reaching impact extended across Rhode Island and beyond, supporting environmental stewardship, community music and arts, educational programs, veterans’ causes, animal welfare, medical advancement, and more. In addition to ticket donations made to over 60 organizations, we are proud to highlight the following:

The 31st edition of the official 2025 Season Program was supported by nearly 50 advertisers, primarily local businesses. This popular glossy publication is proudly produced in partnership with the Rotary Club of Newport, which has received the entirety of advertising sales revenue for 31 years to support its many charitable initiatives.

In addition to advertising support, proceeds from ticket sales at the Sunday July 13 All Charity Day benefit match further contributed to Rotary’s fundraising efforts, reinforcing the long-standing collaboration between Newport Polo and the local community.

On July 13th our 9th annual All Charity Day Match set the stage for charities across the state and region to unite and raise funds, setting a new high of $57,000 raised from the day. Details and registration for the 2026 opportunity will be announced in January on social media and in the Newport Polo Digital Magazine.

Newport Polo’s 24th Annual International Polo Charity Ball unfurled like a tropical garden in full bloom on August 1, as Singapore Swing, presented by BD was in full bloom in support of local conservation. Honoring the Singapore Polo Team and the Southeast Asian nation’s exemplary leadership in sustainability, this year’s gala rooted its mission in nurturing a greener future. Beneficiaries included Eastern RI Conservation District, Save The Bay, Roger Williams Park Zoo, and Newport Tree Conservancy – organizations tending the landscapes, shorelines, habitats, and canopies that define Rhode Island’s natural heritage, collecting $80,000 in auction proceeds.
