Do arrive early to avoid last-minute entry traffic delays! Enjoy pre-game refreshments, amplified music, games on the field, shopping, and socializing. Gates open at 1pm (12pm Sept.)
Do bring your 4-legged friends, on a leash, if they are well-behaved in public. However, pets are not allowed in the Pavilion due to state and local regulations.
Don’t leave their calling card on the grounds.
Do bring a tailgate picnic and cooler with beverages.
Don’t bring a keg, or leave your trash on the polo grounds; carry-in, carry-out trash policy is in effect.
Smoking is tolerated as long as it is not in the immediate vicinity of others, and the butts are not left on the grounds.
Grilling is tolerated as long as the coals are not dumped on the grounds and as long as the grill has a stand to elevate it off the grass high enough not to burn the lawn. Burned lawn does not grow back until next year at best.
Do visit the Pavilion Patio Bar for fabulous cocktails, boutique wines, craft beers, and unique soft drinks.
Don’t bring your own beverages within the Pavilion; our certified wait staff will be happy to serve you.
Do bring a picnic spread or visit our walk-up concessionaires, and decorative touches for a special occasion, avoiding confetti and glass.
Please don’t eat the daisies, or take them home. The centerpieces are the property of Newport Polo and are needed each week to decorate the tables.

How do I share my tickets?
Click “View and Manage Order” in the email you received. Click “View All Tickets”. Under each ticket you wish to share, change the email and name. Then click “Share Ticket.” Take care not to send the same ticket twice. Each ticket in the order is numbered in the upper right corner. Click HERE for a tutorial.
Can I get a refund for my tickets?
Yes, but it must fall within our refund policy. Refund requests must be emailed to info@newportpolo.com 8 days or more before the match. For Pavilion, Tailgate, and Chalet tickets, refunds requested within 7 days are only possible at Newport Polo’s sole discretion and are contingent on the resale of the tickets. A 10% restocking fee applies to all refunds. Service fees are not refundable. Approved refunds are made within 30 days to the original payment method.
Can I switch my tickets to a new match?
Yes. In order to be fully refunded and to have your tickets swapped in full, please make sure that you request this within our refunds policy. Your request must be made 8 days before the match day. If your request is valid, we will refund you and issue you a “gift card” which will be sent to your email. Please enter this gift card number into the allotted section when you are checking out and then click “apply gift card”
Can I upgrade my tickets to a table, chalet or tailgate?
Yes – In order to change your reservation, you must book the table, chalet or tailgate you are interested in switching to, and then email info@newportpolo.com and we will issue you a refund for your original order as soon as possible.
Do children need tickets?
Yes, tickets are required for children. Although they are free, we need to get an understanding of how many people are at the grounds for each match. Please visit our website to book. You can book child tickets (which are free) without needing to pay for a lawn ticket.
Where are the tickets to my tailgate(s) and/or chalet(s)?
This year, we got rid of our individual tailgate and chalet tickets. All you need are your lawn seats to get through the gates. If you don’t know what your tailgate or chalet number is, it is listed in your order confirmation. If you still are unable to locate your space, please email info@newportpolo.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
I am trying to book a tailgate, chalet or table but some are grey, and some are white. Are there spots available?
No, if the tables are white or grey, it means that they are booked. When a table becomes available, it is highlighted in a bright color, like red, yellow, blue or purple. We do not hold tables, so whatever is listed on our website is an accurate representation of what is and what isn’t available.
The match I want is sold out. How can I get tickets?
If a match is sold out, the best chance to get tickets to that match is to join the waitlist . All tickets circulated back into inventory are released through the waitlist.
Unfortunately, we rarely release more than a few tickets through the waitlist. We recommend you purchase tickets for a different match instead.
We cannot sell or release tickets over email. We respectfully request that you do not email us about sold out matches so that we can respond to other requests for support.
Where can I throw out trash?
Glen Farm is a carry-in, carry-out venue. Please plan ahead by bringing your own garbage bag and kindly clean up after yourself and your party before leaving the grounds.
When should I arrive?
The Entry Gates open at 1PM / NOON in September. The Pavilion opens at 4PM / 3PM in September. Early arrival is always recommended to avoid traffic delays on E. Main Rd.
How long is a polo match?
Matches are typically 2 hours in duration, followed by a champagne toast, trophy presentation, and autograph signing with the teams. Matches begin at 5pm and end around 7pm. In September, matches begin at 4pm and end around 6pm.
Is there parking?
Yes! Free parking is provided for all attendees.
Can I bring a tent?
Yes – Tents are permitted in Chalet spaces behind the provided tent, in Tailgate spaces behind the flag pole line, and in the back row of the Lawn behind the marked tent line.
Tents larger than 10’x12′ require advance written permission. Tents larger than 350 sqft require a permit from the Town of Portsmouth.

With The Stella Artois Best in Show, each Saturday is an opportunity for fans to dress to the theme, transform their tailgates, and bring the spirit of the match to life both on and off the field.

Can my group come to polo in a bus?
Yes, commercial vehicles may be used for transport, however, there is a separate stopping area for 15+ passenger vehicles, where a ticket agent will meet the vehicle near the Main Gate to scan passenger tickets. Parking options depend on vehicle size and the type of polo tickets the passengers are using.
Can I bring a Camper/Motorhome/RV/Winnebago to polo?
Driving a camper or motorhome onto the Polo Grounds is NOT permitted due to restrictions of the historic location. If you do arrive by camper or similarly large vehicle, you will be directed to park in an overflow lot outside of the entry gates and enter the grounds on foot.
Can I use a drone at polo?
No, drones may not be used at the Polo Grounds.
Where is my tailgate ticket?
We got rid of the individual tailgate ticket this year. All you need are your lawn tickets to enter through the gates.
Is there electric in the tailgate area?
No – we do not have electricity in the tailgate area
Is there a parking space behind the tailgate?
Yes- there is an additional 18 feet behind space for hosts to park 1 vehicle.
What are the dimensions of each tailgate lot?
Tailgates are 10 feet wide, by 36 feet deep. Tents needs to be at least 20 feet back from the front.
Where is my chalet ticket?
We got rid of the individual tailgate ticket this year. All you need are your lawn tickets to enter through the gates.
Is there parking by the chalets?
Yes, there is 1 parking spot for the chalet host behind the space. All other guests must park in the general lots located near the entrance, behind the flags and in the paddocks behind the jumbotron. Do not park by the rock wall as those are reserved for season table holders.
Is there electric in the chalet?
No, there isn’t any electric in the chalets.
What furniture and amenities are located inside the cabana?
Each Cabana Suite consists of a raised platform with a tented 20-by-20 feet Main Deck, an interior 8-by-20 feet Hospitality Area, and a second-story Observation Deck. The Main Deck and Hospitality Area are accessed by stairs or by ramp. The Observation Deck is access by stairs. In each Cabana Suite, NPI provides furniture including or comparable to: modular lounge seating, 2 coffee tables, 12 cocktail tables, and bar-height chairs in the Main Deck; a banquet table, a console, and a service table in the Hospitality Area; and cocktail tables and bar-height chairs on the Observation Deck. Coffee tables are 25 inches by 29 inches. 2 cocktail height tables are downstairs. 10 cocktail tables are upstairs. The tables are 22 inch squares. Banquet table is 6 ft long.

Where can my caterer cook?
If you have a caterer, please make sure you email sales@newportpolo.com to inform us of your vendors and caterers. Caterers can cook behind the cabana. There is no electricity. They can use a silent generator or propane to cook.
Is there electric in the cabanas?
Yes, there is a low level of electric inside the cabanas. It is strong enough to charge a phone, but not strong enough to heat up food.
Is there parking by the cabanas?
There is 1 parking space behind the cabana for the cabana host. All other guests must park in the public lots located around the farm at the entrance, behind the flags, or in the paddocks.
