Eight finalists remain after Week 7 of Newport Polo’s annual Best of the Best In Show showdown, and we’ve just witnessed one of the season’s most hotly contested matchups: England (Crown & Country) vs. the Pro-Am (Oktoberfest).

 A battle of tea vs. steins. Polished pageantry vs. pretzels. Buckingham Palace chic vs. Bavarian bravado.

Both camps are famous for attracting some of the most devoted and wildly creative tailgaters in the state, and the social media frenzy this week proved it. Votes poured in across our stories, fueling one of the closest races in the competition so far.

Team England delivered its signature flair—crisp color palettes, impeccable presentation, a proper sense of tradition, and yes, its very own guard (no word on whether he cracks a smile). The Pro-Am fired back with a jubilant spread of dirndls, lederhosen, towering steins, pretzels, brats, and enough blue-and-white check to wallpaper a beer hall.

After tallying votes from all platforms, England edges ahead to claim a spot in the next round.
