Embark on a new sporting pursuit this season. Newport Polo invites athletic adults — whether lifelong competitors or weekend warriors — to experience the thrill of polo in our Introductory Polo Clinic, designed for newcomers seeking a dynamic new team sport. No riding experience required!

Under the guidance of our USPA-certified instructors, participants will learn polo fundamentals — from riding techniques and mallet work to rules, strategy, and teamwork — culminating in a friendly scrimmage.

America’s first polo club remains at the forefront of introducing this 3,000-year-old sport to new players. Recognized by the United States Polo Association (USPA) as a leading instructional program, Newport Polo’s Introductory Clinics provide an exciting, accessible gateway into the sport.


Clinic Details

Date: Sunday, Oct. 12 at 11:00 AM
Format: Small group instruction + scrimmage
Includes: 1 hour of mounted instruction, use of horses, tack, and polo mallets
Dress: Jeans, layered outerwear, boots with a 1″ heel, and a safety helmet (required)
Instructors: Dan Keating & Minnie Keating, USPA-certified
Fee: $100/person
Registration: Complete online with waiver and advance payment. 24-hour notice required for reservations or cancellations. Seats are limited, will fill up. Register.

Riding experience isn’t required,” explains Instructor Dan Keating. “Each lesson includes riding instruction tailored for polo. As students progress, their horsemanship grows right alongside their game.”

With polo participation rising by double digits nationally and played in over 80 countries, Newport Polo continues to lead the charge in welcoming new players. Many of our current members began right here — in the same Intro Clinic.
